History enterprises

The history of standardization and metrology in the Polotsk region dates back to the 20s of the last century, when a branch of the St. Petersburg Calibration Chamber of Measures and Weights operated on our territory. Information about our organization refers to the post-war period. Since the 1950s we were called the Polotsk Interdistrict Association (MRO), after which the Polotsk Interdistrict Laboratory of State Supervision (MLGN) was created, which is engaged in state supervision of standards and measuring equipment. The enterprise consisted of 14 people united in 4 groups: a group of state supervision over the observance and implementation of standards and product quality, a group of state supervision of measuring equipment, a group of mechanical and linear-angular measurements, a group of electro-thermal and physical-chemical measurements. The laboratory is equipped with high-precision measuring equipment, modern measuring instruments, which makes it possible to successfully solve complex problems of metrological maintenance and standardization.

Only in 1988 the laboratory was transformed into the Polotsk Center for Standardization and Metrology (CSM). In the same year, two verification departments - the department of mechanical and linear-angular measurements and the department of electro-thermal and physical-chemical measurements - were merged into the department of state verification and metrological certification of measuring instruments.

In 1991, a testing laboratory for food and agricultural products was established under the sector of state supervision of standards and measuring instruments. In October 1992, the first test report was issued.

Since 1994, the center has moved to Novopolotsk, Zavodskoy passage, 32.

In 1997, the sector for certification of food and agricultural products was separated as an independent subdivision. In 2000, it was already a department for certification of products, services and quality systems.

On September 10, 2001, the Polotsk CSM was renamed into the Republican Unitary Enterprise "Polotsk Center for Standardization, Metrology and Certification" (RUE "Polotsk CSM")

In December 2007, the laboratory for testing food and agricultural products was renamed into the testing department.

In December 2009, a metrological service was created, consisting of two departments - the department of electromagnetic and thermal measurements and the department of mechanical and linear-angular measurements.

In 2018, the information and computer group was renamed into the standardization department.

Until the present stage, Polotsk CSMS has gone a long way of becoming a diversified enterprise, a small department has turned into a center with a staff of more than 80 specialists.
