United Road Safety Day takes place in Belarus

“Help yourself be noticed!” – under this motto, on September 29, the State Traffic Inspectorate holds the Unified Road Safety Day.

Preventive measures are designed to draw attention to the problem of road traffic injuries in conditions of decreasing daylight hours.

Traffic police officers will visit work collectives and educational institutions to remind the rules of safe behavior in the dark.

When walking along the edge of the roadway or shoulder, pedestrians are required to use reflective elements. Cyclists and people using personal mobility devices must also identify themselves in the dark.

Drivers need to be extremely careful when passing pedestrian crossings and driving on highways near populated areas, observe speed limits and maneuvering rules.

On Friday and weekends, the State Traffic Inspectorate will strengthen control on the roads and take additional measures to ensure the safety of vulnerable categories of road users. Increased attention will be paid to the development of hazardous sections of roads in the Minsk region. Crews of the Strela traffic police special unit will join the raid activities.

The traffic police urges you to be careful on the roads, take care of yourself and others.
