From April 1, 2022, a new standard STB 2157-2021 “Identification of wood and non-timber forest products by origin. Primary requirements".
The standard establishes requirements for the identification of wood and non-timber forest products by origin, in accordance with the requirements of PEFC, carried out by an organization in order to inform the consumer about the origin of wood and non-timber forest products from sustainably managed forests, as well as the use of recycled raw materials in their manufacture.
STB 2157-2021 establishes methods for product identification, requirements for managing the product identification process and its implementation, as well as for protecting health and safety in professional activities. The standard can be used to declare the conformity of the origin of the forest products produced by the organization, as well as third party assessment.
