An introductory tour with schoolchildren took place in the Polotsk CSMC

On October 6, an introductory tour was held at the Polotsk Center for Standardization, Metrology and Certification, timed to coincide with the celebration of World Standardization Day. The enterprise was visited by students of the 7th "G" class of the State Educational Institution "Gymnasium No. 2 of Novopolotsk".

During the tour, the children were able to get acquainted with the work of the Polotsk Center, understand the terms "metrology" and "standardization", and also put into practice the knowledge gained from the field of physics, chemistry and biology.

When visiting the metrological service, students saw various measuring instruments (lengths, masses, pressures, temperatures, etc.), learned the differences between household appliances and measuring instruments used in production.

During a visit to the Testing Department of the Polotsk Central Health Center, the children were shown how food products are tested for quality and safety, laboratory equipment and utensils are used to detect pathogenic bacteria. Each student was able to examine a smear of E. coli culture under a microscope.

At the end of the tour, the children were given sweet presents, as well as mass measuring instruments (weights) as a memento of the tour.
